Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Our Commitment

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It manifests in various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. These practices deprive individuals of their liberty for exploitation.

At VUX World, we take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to ethical practices, transparency, and implementing effective controls to ensure modern slavery does not occur in our business operations or supply chains.

Scope

This policy applies to all individuals working with or on behalf of VUX World, including:

  • Employees (all levels)
  • Directors and officers
  • Agency and seconded workers
  • Volunteers and interns
  • Contractors, consultants, and third-party representatives

Our Standards

We expect all contractors, suppliers, and business partners to uphold our high standards. Contracts will include prohibitions against forced, trafficked, or enslaved labour, ensuring compliance throughout supply chains.

We adhere to the Modern Slavery Act 2015, promoting transparency and accountability across all business dealings.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Oversight

The Company holds overall responsibility for:

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of this policy.
  • Addressing queries and auditing systems to prevent modern slavery.

Managers

Managers must ensure their teams:

  • Understand and comply with this policy.
  • Receive adequate training on identifying and addressing modern slavery risks.

Employees and Representatives

All employees and representatives must:

  • Read, understand, and comply with this policy.
  • Avoid activities that could lead to policy violations.
  • Report any concerns about modern slavery.

Raising Concerns

How to Report

If you suspect modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain:

  • Notify your line manager or a Company Director immediately.
  • Use the Whistleblowing Policy if preferred.

We encourage openness and will protect individuals raising genuine concerns in good faith. No one will face retaliation, such as dismissal or disciplinary action, for reporting a suspected violation.

Support for Suppliers

Where appropriate, we will provide guidance to suppliers to address coercive, abusive, or exploitative practices.

Communication and Training

We ensure awareness of this policy through:

  • Training during employee induction.
  • Ongoing communication with employees, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Reinforcement of our zero-tolerance stance at all stages of supplier relationships.

Breaches of Policy

Violations of this policy will result in:

  • Employees: Disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal for gross misconduct.
  • Suppliers and Partners: Termination of the business relationship.

This policy is reviewed regularly and amended as necessary to ensure compliance with evolving standards.
